She oversees all the day to day management of 3 facilities, in 3 different regions with over 600 employees. She is an expert in USDA meal programs and helped grow B4YM from $1 million to $60 million in revenue.

She moved to Los Angeles in 2001 and assumed the position of Director of Education for the National Council of La Raza, the largest national Latino advocacy group in the US. In her role she oversaw a charter schools development initiative which gave grants to Latino serving charter schools across the west coast. She then joined a charter management organization called PUC Schools, Partnerships to Uplift Communities, where she ran operations for a network of 15 schools across Los Angeles. This role exposed her to the USDA National School Lunch Program and the nutritional needs of low income students motivating her to start her own company to meet these nutritional needs, Better 4 You Meals, now Revolution Foods.

Mary Sheehan - Director for Archives

Caitlin Healey - Director of Book Club

Gretchen Hays - Co-Director of College Admissions

Originally from New York, I graduated with a degree in French with a minor in Economics. I went directly to Wharton Graduate School where I obtained an MBA in Marketing.

First and best job:  Consumer Marketing for several Time Inc. magazines, including Sports Illustrated, Money, and then New Publication Development.  From there, I was recruited to work for a French company, in Paris, with responsibility for signing English-language publications in the UK to their radically new on-line subscription management software.

Married in 1984 to a French citizen, we returned to the US and California where I raised two sons while travelling between continents.

As an entrepreneur I created two small businesses, both in French wine imports and fine art publishing for French artists (sculpture and painting).

I began a second career in volunteer work starting with public school booster and library organizations, neighborhood associations, and culminating in election to the Greater Wilshire Neighborhood Council. You could say that I have been a PROJECT MANAGER most of my life, with strong organizational and interpersonal skills, as well as a determination to keep up with new technologies.

In addition to attending the rare visits of MHC faculty to Los Angeles, I got hooked by the book group in 2012!  Meeting other uncommon women has enriched my West Coast life and promises great new vistas for expanding MoHo activities in Southern California.

I played four years of Field Hockey in South Hadley, plus a couple of seasons of lacrosse.  Still speak fluent French, I’m an active swimmer and tennis player, and feel passionate about sports equity, literacy, and women’s health.

Caitlin Healey (she/her) serves as CHIME’ Institute's Schwarzenegger Community School's principal for grades TK-4th. She began her teaching career in Oakland Unified School District in 2011. Caitlin moved to Los Angeles and joined the CHIME community in 2016, as a special education co-teacher. She earned her bachelor’s degree in English from Mount Holyoke College in 2009 and her master’s degree in Educational Leadership from Mills College.

In addition to her work life, Caitlin is an avid runner, clocking many miles around Lake Balboa, the Santa Monica Mountains, the San Gabriels and Angeles National Forest. She loves cooking, reading, drinking coffee, baking and eating pastries, and doing crossword puzzles.

Native of Denver CO, high school in St. Louis, parents moved to Boston my junior year in high school.  Otherwise, I doubt I would ever have heard of MHC.  Had a double major in history and literature, concentration in the Renaissance.  Summer program with Sarah Lawrence in Florence, Italy.  Returned home to Denver after graduation and worked for one year in a bank before returning to Europe for three months with a college classmate.

Married in 1966, moved to CA and after a year as a head teller in a bank, I decided that teaching was a good fit for having a family.  Taught fourth grade In Santa Monica and had a fifth college year at CalStateLA in order to qualify for a teaching credential.   Began a masters program in ed-psych at CSUN.

Daughter born in 1970, completed the masters and resigned from teaching.  Son born in 1975 and I began volunteering in our local Malibu elementary school.  Started and managed a before and after school program in the local Malibu school, then added two other programs sponsored by national PTA.  Also was president of our neighborhood association in Malibu and involved with city committees.

Santa Monica schools had a hiring freeze so my return to teaching was not feasible.  Increased my volunteer work by serving on several local school committees as well as co-chairing several District committees, including Facilities Use and the Gifted Program.  We and two other friends purchased an old villa in Spain in 1980 so we made trips to Europe every four years taking our children, then more frequently until 2010 when we sold our partnership.

In 1993 our Malibu house and neighborhood were destroyed in a fire and a friend and I started an Organization to help neighbors rebuild plus I became the contractor to rebuild our house – a fire resistant structure (wire framework covered with gunnite).   After completing the rebuilding, I was able to extend my volunteer work to Heifer International (I participated in tours to Thailand, Viet Nam, Cambodia and China); Habitat International; and a mentoring group for girls (MOSTe) in LA.

Sold the Malibu house and moved to a condo in Pacific Palisades in 2007.  Throughout all the former years, my ties with Mount Holyoke continued: yearly attendance at Volunteer Conference; head class agent; Head Class Agent link with summer interns that our class funded; Mary Lyon Society chair; admission rep for SoCal.  My love of music has continued for thirty years – artist liaison and usher for Ojai Music Festival, LA Opera and Master Chorale.
