Meet Your Connector
Elsa Mei Tung (she/her) is a Green Griffin from the Mount Holyoke class of 2005! She is Co-founder and Principal of KE Impact, a boutique consulting firm that partners with nonprofits and local governments to bolster racially just urban planning, public policy development, strategic advocacy, and capacity building with Black, Indigenous, people of color (BIPOC) communities. Previously she served for five years as Land Use Program Manager at community-based nonprofit Long Beach Forward, where she directed policy advocacy, collaborative partnerships, and institutional grants and contracts related to housing justice, environmental justice, equitable community development, and city budget advocacy. Prior to her work in Long Beach, Elsa was Policy and Research Manager at Los Angeles Neighborhood Land Trust, where she oversaw park equity policy and coalition building at the city, county, and state levels. Early in her career, she served for five years as Senior Legislative Assistant and Deputy Press Secretary in the Washington, DC office of Oregon Congressman David Wu. Elsa earned her bachelor’s degree in politics from Mount Holyoke College and her master’s degree in international environmental policy from The Fletcher School of Law and Diplomacy at Tufts University. She lives in San Pedro with her husband Kevin, brother Yong-Jin, and labrador mix Winter. Outside of work, she serves on the board of the Los Angeles League of Conservation Voters and enjoys biking, horseback riding, and karaoke.
